Bluegrass Festival
Bluegrass Festival to be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the large auditorium of the Ozark Folk Center.  Great bluegrass music all weekend long.  Single day pass or Festival pass available. www.mountainview-bluegrass.com.

Days of 3 Syllamo Stage Run
Three runs will be held within the Sylamore Ranger District, and 90% on single-track trails including the North Sylamore Creek Trail, Sylamore Creek horse trails, and the Syllamo mountain bike trails.  For general information visit www.runarkansas.com. Or www.3daysofsyllamo.com

48th Annual Arkansas Folk Festival

Annual Spring celebration featuring handmade crafts, frontier life demonstrations, parade, lots of "folk, mountain, and bluegrass" music, dancing on the Courthouse Square, and window decorating contest. A great fun family festival.  Ozark Folk Center opens for the season.  Free admission to Crafts Village during this weekend.  Free shuttle from downtown to the Folk Center.

28th Annual Bean Fest & Great Arkansas Championship Outhouse Races
Beans and cornbread, music, dancing on Courthouse Square, handmade crafts and outrageous outhouse races. The “Bean Fest Cooking Champion” and the “Arkansas Outhouse Races Champion” are crowned. Watch the next generation of Outhouse Racers compete, as the kids take their seats in pedal powered Outhouses.  The KWOZ talent show is held on the Square after the outhouse races.

Courthouse and Christmas Tree Lighting
(*A part of the Arkansas Parks & Tourism Christmas Trail of Lights).  Experience an Ozark Mountain Christmas! Historic Courthouse, town square and along Main Street come aglow with lights, music and spirit. Tree Lighting and courthouse lighting are scheduled for 6 pm.  Enjoy Christmas music on the square along with a Live Nativity. Santa will be there for the children.

Caroling in the Caverns - A Christmas Concert

Most every festival or event seems to involve folk, mountain or bluegrass music in same way.

Arkansas Folk Festival
The oldest festival is the Annual Arkansas Folk Festival, held in the glorious spring. A highlight of this festival is an old fashioned "home-town" parade, which brings out school bands, patriotic veterans groups, dudded-up horses, and decorated floats of all sorts. [Click here for more...]

Beanfest and the Great Championship Outhouse Race!
If filling up on beans and cornbread and then cheering wildly decorated outhouses as they careen down the street sounds like fun, then the Beanfest and the Great Championship Outhouse Race, the last Saturday in October is for you. Bluegrass Festival
Bluegrass fans will find festivals devoted to this increasingly popular type of music in both mid-March and mid-November. The many activities of the Mountain View Bluegrass Festival are planned indoors, in case the weather chooses not to cooperate! Both Bluegrass festivals are developing a reputation for attracting top notch national music groups.

Smokin on the Square BBQ Throwdown Competition
The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce will hosts the annual BBQ Throwdown Competition in late June on the Square in Mountain View. This is a State Championship Event and sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. [Click here for more...]

An Old Time Gathering on the Square

Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour
The annual "Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour" is held in mid-September. Twenty five artists, representing a wide variety of 2-D art and fine crafts, are participating in this free self-guided driving tour.  These talented artists will open their private working studios to the public on this special weekend from 9 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. All studios are located within 30 miles of the Court Square in Mountain View, Arkansas, including Calico Rock, Pineville, and Fox. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet the artists in their own environment and see where and how they work.

4th Annual Paws for the Cause
Stone County Humane Society kindly welcomes all who love animals (and people too) to the 4th annual Paws for the Cause. Centennial Bank Park on Main Street will be the place to be on Saturday October 23th from 10am until 3pm.

Super Cruise Scheduled in Mountain View
Mark your calendars for late November when the fun filled Super Cruise will take place at Cash’s White River Music and Comedy Show in Mountain View Arkansas.

This is an absolute necessity for all car enthusiasts and sure to be a fun filled event. The Super Cruise will begin on Friday with registration from 3 till 7 p.m. There will be free food starting at 4:30 for registered entries and guests and a live music show and womanless wedding at 8 p.m. along with a best dressed 50’s and dance contest.
