Music, pinto beans, and cornbread. Oh yeah, and some outhouses built as street racers : )
A local tradition for over 30 years, BeanFest and the Outhouse Races occur every year in the Fall (typically late October), and feature over 2,000lbs of cooked pinto beans, lots of cornbread, and the beautiful sounds of bluegrass, folk, gospel, and cajun music.
Cornmeal marks the beginning and end of the Outhouse Races, and cash prizes are awarded to winners of each class.
Costumes are also quite prevalent during the celebration, and visitors are encouraged to join in on the fun.
Overall, it’s a great time to visit Mountain View, taste some local flavor, and relax in this fun & friendly environment.
