It’s time to get revved up for
Mountains, Music & Motorcycles August
22, 23 & 24 in Mountain View, AR on the courtsquare!
Friday night there will be a parking lot
dance at Harp’s
Grocery store; dark until 11 p.m. Hot dogs, hamburgers and
soft drinks will be served to help support Mountains, Music and
Motorcycles.
The east, west and north sides of the courtsquare will be closed
to general traffic, and the space used for bike parking, biker
and food vendors and games.
Registration for all events – Bike Show, Poker Run, Biker
Games – begins at 9 a.m.
The Bike Show begins at 10 a.m. People’s
choice voting will determine winners in six divisions: Vintage,
Modern, Rat, Trike and Custom. Unique trophies will be presented
to the winners following the close of voting at 12:30. Entry
fee is $10 per bike.
Those participating in the poker run must
register prior to the ride out to collect the required trivia
after 10 a.m. The
complete poker run route is given to participants at time of registration.
The deadline to return is 2 p.m. Proceeds from the Poker Run will
benefit the March of Dimes, Bikers for Babies.
Biker games will be held on Washington Street on the north side
the courtsquare at 2 p.m. Riders will demonstrate their timing
and control in various games that are challenging to play and amusing
to watch. Games are Slow Ride, Keg Roll, Weenie Bite and Balloon
Toss.
There will be live music on the courtsquare
between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to remain on the courtsquare
for the traditional impromptu music later on in the evening or
to visit one of the many established music shows in town. Accommodations
are available throughout Mountain View for a nice relaxing weekend
that will enchant you with some of the best motorcycle rides in
the state.
Sunday Morning there will be a biker church
service at 9:30 at the city park amphitheater. Lunch will be served following
the service. Happy Jack Burbidge will be bringing the message
and lunch is provided by Stone Rolled Away chapter of the Arkansas
Baptist Bikers Association and First Baptist church.
Parking is available near the courtsquare,
and a shuttle bus will be available to help with transportation
for those who may want to park at the Ozark Folk Center’s
large parking lot .
