Listed below is the contact information and telephone numbers that should be helpful to prospective purchasers of undeveloped properties in Stone County.

The city of Mountain View provides city water to four water associations outside the city limits. Hook up to city supplied water lines requires approval of the particular water association. The associations and the associated telephone number to call regarding possible hook ups are:

  • Richwoods Water Association 269-4620
  • West Stone County Water Association 363-4800
  • Pleasant Grove 652-3385
  • Sylamore Valley Water Association 585-2221

Your realtor should be able to provide you with information regarding the relative Water association, the possibility of connection to one of these water systems or, whether spring, well or cistern collected
water is your best option for the property.

The State Health Association has certain regulations that govern the installation and location of septic systems. To learn about the rules and regulations and or obtain a permit for installation of a system,
contact the Health Department at 870-269-3308.

If you will require electrical power to your property, you will have to call Entergy at 800-368-3749 regarding the availability and associated costs.

Several private individuals provide weekly trash/garbage pick up to specific areas not serviced by the city.

Natural Gas service is available throughout most of Mountain View, but not outside the city. However, several propane gas companies provide tanks and service to areas not serviced by the natural gas lines.
Should you have questions regarding property assessments, the County Assessor can be reached at 870-269-3351.

If you have to construct an access road to your property from a state highway, you will have to obtain a permit from the State Highway Department.
