1st Annual Syllamo's Revenge Mountain Bike Challenge

November 6th, 2004
Mountain View, Arkansas

Chosen by Outside Magazine as one of the
Top 20 Outdoor Destinations in the United States

You won’t want to miss 40+ miles of awesome mountain biking through the beautiful Ozark Mountains, followed by a free Shrimp Boil, to celebrate the official opening of Phase II of the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail. Unlike many mountain bike trails that have a limited area for trail construction, the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail stretches over thousands of acres of the Ozark National Forest, and offers riders changing scenery and beautiful views of the White River Valley, Sylamore Creek Valley, and the Ozark Mountains.

The cost of the event is $20, which will be given directly to the US Forest Service for matching funds needed, to secure an already approved grant, for construction of Phase III of the trail system. There will be rest stops with food and water, as well as SAG service.

The 24 miles of Phase I will challenge even the most advanced riders, with sections of technical riding and plenty of vertical change. Phase II consists of 16 miles, that while suited for riders of all ability levels, will give advanced riders rolling trails that are fast and exciting.

The ride will begin and end at the main Trail Head for Phase II in Blanchard Springs Recreation Area, which is the home of Blanchard Springs Caverns, one of the world's largest living caves. Camping, with hot showers, is available, and the shrimp boil for all riders and guests will be held at the Big Pavilion in the campground.
